About us

AWAQ means “woman weaver” and was born as a tribute to the magical hands of my grandmother, my mother, and many other artisan women who possess this incredible talent. Through their art, they inspire every piece in our brand.

My name is Fiorella, and I have always been a creative person. Since I was little, I loved making things with my hands, such as drawing and lettering. I remember having to make a scarf for a school project, and my mother helped me with the task. At that time, I didn’t fully understand the true meaning of creating a garment, but I watched my grandmother knitting unique and beautiful pieces, and my mother following that same passion with dedication and love.

It wasn’t until I started studying textile design that I truly understood the importance of weaving and the value of the wonderful fibers we have in Peru. That’s when I discovered the magic of transforming an idea into something tangible. I began designing and weaving the garments I imagined, and that process of bringing my creations to life was what motivated me to pursue my dream: to create a brand with unique pieces that reflect the art and richness of our culture.

Every handmade garment or accessory is one of a kind. From the artisanal dyeing process to the crafting and finishing, each detail takes time, dedication, and love. This devotion makes every piece special, carrying its own story, meant for people who appreciate everything behind its creation.

Why Choose Alpaca?

At AWAQ, we believe that what you wear should tell a story — of heritage, care, and conscious luxury. That’s why we choose alpaca.

Exceptionally Soft, Naturally Luxurious

Alpaca fibers are incredibly soft — often compared to cashmere — but more durable and resistant to pilling. It’s a gentle hug from the Andes, wrapped around you.

Warmth Without the Weight

Unlike traditional wool, alpaca offers lightweight insulation, keeping you warm even in the coldest seasons, without the bulk.

Hypoallergenic & Eco-Friendly

Alpaca wool contains no lanolin, making it ideal for sensitive skin. It’s also biodegradable and comes from animals raised with respect and harmony in the highlands of Peru.

Sustainable Elegance

Alpacas have a low environmental impact — their padded feet protect the soil, and they consume less water and food than other livestock. Choosing alpaca means choosing a future where fashion honors the Earth.

Ancestral Craftsmanship

Every piece in AWAQ is more than a garment — it’s a connection to the hands and heart of Peruvian artisans who carry generations of tradition in every thread.
